Date: Circa 1892  Location: Garrison, MT Photographer: unknown Railroad: Northern Pacific Railway Caption: "A passenger car has telescoped wooden combination caboose no. 1376 at Garrison. Though the image is not dated in Nixon's notes, details in the photo indicate that it was probably taken in about 1892. In 1908 the NP's line through Garrison, and from Garrison west to Missoula, was replaced with a new double-track line that eliminated many curves."

The meaning of the number 655 is unknown, but it is most likely the former number of this locomotive. The accident appears to have involved a boiler explosion. The cab has been completely destroyed."
