McGee Railroad: Northern Pacific Railway Caption: "NP 2239, Class Q-5 locomotive with 3rd #2 derailed 1.5 miles east of Athol ID, probably caused by excessive speed. Engineer and Fireman were killed. Engineer was probably lost according to McGee as the engineer's regular assignment was south on the Camas Line. Head brakeman was not on engine which saved his life."
