- Summary: The quantity and quality of surface runoff water from small foothills watersheds under three levels of grazing pressure (ungrazed-5 years of rest, heavy-2.4 AUM/ha, and very heavy-4.8 AUM/ha) were examined in the fescue grasslands in the Porcupine Hills of southwestern Alberta, Canada. The potential risk of surface water contamination in adjacent reservoirs was also investigated.
