Date: During 1904  Location: Mullan, ID Photographer: D S Colby Railroad: Northern Pacific Railway Caption: "NP wreck on "S" bridge Wallace branch 1904 cy D S Colby Copy negative This image has been published a number of times, and has been made into a post card The S bridge was so named because of its compound curvature to enable the track to cross the draw and turn back on itself just a few feet higher than the point from which it started It was on the west side of Lookout Pass, uphill from Mullan The forest is young at this time, and would fail to reach maturity because it burned in 1910 NP train crews were instrumental in saving many lives in that fire"
