Abstract: Avalanche activity in Krkonoše Mountains in the Czech Republic is mostly monitored during winter season. Some traces of avalanche activity stay visible for long time. Our study is focused on plants succession which is running on avalanche paths – especially within starting and transition zones. There have been selected three single events (full depth avalanches) during the winters in 1999, 2002 and 2006. Historical events on these paths were documented by dendrochronological method.
