Abstract: 30 years ago the European Avalanche Warning Services (EAWS) started to collaborate in a structured and regular basis. Since then there had been lots of important results focusing on a user-friendly output of avalanche relevant information. One of the milestones was the introduction of the unified European Avalanche Danger Scale in 1993. During the recent years EAWS focused on one hand on the development of data-standards as a basis for easy-going data-exchange and on the other hand on applications which are based on such standards. Other important topics are the redesign of their portal which will be finished for winter-season 2013-2014 (www.avalanches.org /www.lawinen.org), the use of new media and avalanche-danger-patterns. Additionally there might be some adaptions of the avalanche size-classification and the matrix. The very latest results will be discussed and decided a week before ISSW at the EAWS-meeting in Barcelona and presented at ISSW.
