Nurse Educators: Incivility, Job Satisfaction, and Intent to Leave

Frisbee et al. aim to determine if the experience of incivility among nursing faculty is related to their level of job satisfaction and their intent to leave the organization. The cross-sectional quantitative study was descriptive correlational in design. The study was limited to faculty who reported that their faculty position was their full-time position accounting for at least 51% of their professional work. The findings of the current study lead to more questions that need to be answered to understand the concepts of incivility, job satisfaction, and intent to leave among nursing faculty. Two recommendations for further research are related to interventions to mitigate incivility and perception of incivility within a nursing education unit and deeper investigation into intent to leave among nursing faculty.
