In 1873, began operating the National Park Toll Road for travelers from the north going to Yellowstone National Park. In 1883, the railroad took it over. The canyon, just north of Gardiner, is named Yankee Jim Canyon. Vintage 4x5 in. print taken with a Kodak No. 1 camera.
