Description: Pinnacle at the entrance to Bridger Canyon known as Maiden Rock. The pinnacle was blasted down by road crews in 1976. There are two men standing between the rocks. Before Lewis & Clark and before 1806, the Sioux and Nez Perce, who were fighting each other, both saw a Spirit Maiden standing on the rock and they thought she spoke to them. Hence, the rock is named Maiden Spirit. Vintage 6x8 in. print, 4x5 in. copy neg.
