Abstract "I'm at work on a book about Montana during the homestead era, and I wonder if you'd be game to help me out by providing a few of your memories. My own memory doesn't go back far enough; it was my grandparents who homesteaded south of Helena, and the Depression had wiped out the place by the time I was born. As I've been casting a round to find people who have first - hand homestead experience…" In this file Ivan has collected first hand homestead experience through correspondence, recollections and family histories are given to Ivan. The general homesteading experiences span Montana and Washington States. The materials have been underlined by Ivan for the purpose of researching his books and other writings.
