Abstract   Red poppies, planted by the original owners of the Polebridge Mercantile store, can be seen growing at the edge of Sullivan Meadow in the North Fork of the Flathead River area of Montana. Ivan Doig, Karen Feather & Jerry DeSanto are standing in the tall grass just beyond the flowers. They are all looking down to where Jerry is pointing with his finger. Beyond them the view expands to show a large meadow skirted by evergreen trees and in the extreme distance a high mountain range can be seen silhouetted against a nearly cloudless blue sky.
