Content Description: The Walter and Martha Peoples papers consist of the original handwritten draft of "Cut Bank Pioneers," the biographical scrapbook donated to the Glacier County Public Library in 1964. The biographies are primarily of early twentieth century homesteaders who settled in the area and list the names, birth dates, family milestones, and brief facts such as the general location of their claims and later occupations. A second folder consists of newspaper clippings, letters, and miscellaneous notes used by the Peoples in their research while preparing the scrapbook. A reel of microfilm, which was prepared by the Montana Historical Society in 1964, reproduces the pages of the completed scrapbook, along with another prepared at the same time by Dr. C. H. Minette pertaining to the Cut Bank Army Air Force Base.
