Abstract: The Chinook Pass avalanche control season occurs in the spring starting in mid April. Warming is a factor in all avalanches. Methods of avalanche control that we have found effective for wet snow are discussed. Timing of wet snow avalanche control is critical. The methods that will help us achieve better understanding of the snowpack and thus improve our timing are presented.
