Abstract: Abstract.--Field experiments indicate that the compressional blast of an explosive can cause a substantial reduction in the rate of snow creep (10-45%) in the immediate area of the bomb crater. Thus a weak point in the slab (caused by differential creep) may be artificially produced and vulnerable to post control release.
