Abstract: Collimated light has been passed through sections of snow about 5 cm thick and photographed. The photographs reveal fissures, regions with abnormally large crystals, and possibly zones of relatively low density. The photographic techniques will be described. Viewers will be invited to speculate upon the physical processes that cause and sustain the anomalies.
